Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative's Educational Scholarship Program
Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative is now in its 21st year of awarding educational scholarships. Through the years hundreds of students from cooperative member families have been honored with scholarships. These scholarships have traditionally been awarded in amounts of $250 to $1,000 each.
Scholarships are awarded in all fields of post-secondary education from vocational to graduate studies. According to program guidelines, scholarships are available to adults and dependent children of all ACEC member families. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of need and excellence in academics, social and community service activities.
This program adds no cost to the members' electric bill. It is funded entirely from unclaimed capital credits that are issued by the cooperative.
Each year, scholarship applications are made available in early January. The deadline to complete scholarship applications is generally in mid-February. Scholarship recipients are announced in the spring, usually to coincide with area high school recognition banquets. Announcement of the annual scholarship program appears in ACEC's member newsletters in the January and February issues. Scholarship application forms are available exclusively at this website beginning in early January until the mid-February deadline.
Adams-Columbia members (of all ages) that are enrolled in adult educational programs are encouraged to apply. Also, applicants from previous years, especially those who were not selected, should consider reapplying.
