Operation Round-Up®
It's Your Choice!
Since 1998, members of Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative have had the opportunity to join with their neighbors to support local projects and charities with small change. This voluntary program is called Operation Round Up®. And it is making a difference in our community.
It's easy to participate
It's easy for every ACEC member to participate. Look for the Operation Round Up check off area on your electric bill. Check "yes" and you will be automatically enrolled beginning with your next billing period. Members can also enroll by returning the coupon in this brochure. If you prefer, you can include a note with your bill payment, call us, or visit the Cooperative in person. There are no minimum enrollment periods; members can drop their enrollment at any time.
ALL ADAMS-COLUMBIA MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN OPERATION ROUND UP. HOWEVER, YOU WILL ONLY BE ENROLLED IF YOU TELL US TO "ROUND UP" YOUR ACCOUNT.
How will the program affect my electric bill?
Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative will "round up" the electric bill of participating members to the next highest dollar. Members with more than one account can "round up" one or more of their accounts, as they wish. Example: If your light bill were $41.20 or $41.95, it would be "rounded up" to $42, with the additional amount going into the Adams-Columbia Community Fund. (The average cost per member per year will be donations per member per year will be about $6.)
How can I join?
It's easy. On your electric bill, look for the Operation Round Up check off box, and mark it with an X. When you return the bill stub with your payment, you will be enrolled and your contributions start with the next billing period. Or you can print out our Sign-up Coupon (PDF), and drop it off at any of our service centers.
How are Adams-Columbia Community Fund monies used?
Adams-Columbia Community Fund monies are used for local projects and charities only within Adams-Columbia's service area. Examples are: emergency assistance following natural disasters, youth programs, civic projects and more. In establishing this program, certain requirements and bylaws were adopted. Funds cannot be used for political purposes or to reimburse the Cooperative for any expenses or unpaid energy usage. All funds are maintained separate from Adams-Columbia's operating finances. A representative committee of cooperative members oversees the program. These 11 people, one from each ACEC membership district, meet quarterly to determine how funds can best be used for the benefit of individuals and community projects.
